Mission
To provide education and support to those who are grieving and to those who work with and assist the bereaved;
To ground all work in the scholarly study of thanatology (death, dying, and bereavement) while treating individual experiences as unique and complex;
To keep the dying or grieving person at the center of all conversations and interventions with the awareness that bereavement support and education are sacred work;
To contribute to the dismantling of silence, stigma, and shame surrounding loss, bereavement, and mourning in order to encourage others to become empowered in their grief journeys.
